Abu Dhabi Police arrest 45 for filming incident sites, sharing rumours

Abu Dhabi Police

Abu Dhabi Police say 45 people of different nationalities have been arrested for filming locations linked to ongoing events and posting the footage on social media, while also sharing inaccurate and misleading information that could provoke public concern.

Legal and administrative action has been taken as part of ongoing efforts to monitor and address the misuse of social media.

Authorities stressed that publishing unverified information or content not issued by official sources violates regulations and can negatively affect community safety and security operations.

The public has been urged to rely only on authorised sources for information and to refrain from photographing or sharing footage of incident locations in order to protect public safety and the integrity of security procedures.

Police added that specialised teams are closely monitoring social media and will take legal action against anyone who spreads rumours or misleading information, stressing that maintaining security and stability is a shared responsibility.
