Abu Dhabi is turning community spaces into food supply stores

Community event spaces in Abu Dhabi are being converted into temporary stores and distribution points for food and consumer goods.

It’s one of several new initiatives to ensure the reliable supply of essential items in the emirate.

Home delivery services are also being ramped up while a new mobile app is being launched for ordering products at reasonable prices.

Officials say the latest measures will help prevent overcrowding at major supermarkets and provide further options to consumers.

Abu Dhabi’s Department of Economic Development is implementing the initiatives in partnership with the Department of Municipalities and Transport, the Integrated Transport Centre, and Agthia Group.
