Hundreds of mosques in Dubai are being disinfected as part of the ongoing national sterilisation programme.

The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department is implementing the campaign in as many as 800 mosques across the emirate.

The initiative, which began last week, will be running until April 11.

It has already covered nearly 200 mosques located in 30 different areas of the emirate.

The operations are being carried out by three specialised companies using advanced equipment and environment-friendly products.
