8 drivers face legal action in Sharjah for dangerous stunts during rain

Sharjah Police/X

Sharjah Police have taken legal action against eight drivers who were caught performing "dangerous stunts" during the rains last week.

Releasing footage of the reckless acts, the authority said the drivers posed significant risks to public safety.

The cars have been impounded for violating multiple traffic laws.

The drivers will be fined AED 2,000 and 23 black points for endangering the lives of other road users and their own, and an additional AED 3,000 in fines and 23 black points for driving a vehicle without license plates. Both offences also carry impoundment of vehicles between 60 and 90 days.

According to the UAE traffic laws, drivers who cross the yearly limit of 24 black points will face license suspension and court proceedings.

Sharjah Police urged residents to follow traffic laws or face strict penalties, and urged them to report serious violations by dialling 999.
