According to the weather forecasters, the city will face a high tide of around 160 cm at 1200 GMT.
Venice's mayor Luigi Brugnaro said they were preparing for another "tough day" but insisted that it will be less dramatic than Tuesday.
Meanwhile, authorities have been closely monitoring the Arno and Po rivers as their levels rose following a night of heavy rain.
