Australia's central bank takes 'responsibilty' for note typo

Twitter

The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) has taken 'responsibilty' for overlooking an embarrassing typo in its latest A$50 notes.

They confirmed the error would be fixed in future print runs, adding that 46 million of Australia's $50 banknotes have been printed with this spelling error at a value of $2.3 billion.

It came to light when a radio station posted a photo on social media sent by its listener.

The image zoomed in on how the word “responsibility” was misspelt three times.
