A UAE delegation, led by the Assistant Foreign Minister for Advanced Science and Technology, Omran Sharaf, concluded a two-day visit to Ireland's capital for talks on strengthening science, technology, and trade partnerships.

The visit focused on exploring new collaboration opportunities in advanced science, emerging technologies, and the economic and trade sectors, reinforcing the UAE’s commitment to strengthening international partnerships.

The delegation, which included representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Industry and Advanced Manufacturing (MOIAT), Ministry of Economy, the Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC), Technology Innovation Institute (TII), ASPIRE, G42, the UAE Chamber of Commerce, and the International Chamber of Commerce in the UAE, underscored the UAE’s collaborative approach across multiple sectors.

In a statement, Omran Sharaf emphasised the significance of the visit: “This visit has reaffirmed the strong foundations of collaboration between the UAE and Ireland in advanced science and emerging technology. We look forward to building on these discussions and creating impactful opportunities that contribute to our shared goals in the areas of advanced science, emerging technology, and various economic opportunities."

The UAE’s Ambassador to Ireland, Mohammed Al Shamsi, echoed these sentiments, highlighting the importance of the visit in nurturing the bilateral relationship. He said, “The discussions held with Irish ministries, academic institutions, professors, and government agencies were not just productive; they were a testament to our shared interests and aspirations. The visit focused on critical areas such as space, science, research, artificial intelligence, and advancing trade and economic ties, while also fostering a deeper political understanding between the UAE and Ireland.”

The meetings with several key Irish organisations aimed to identify areas of mutual interest and lay the groundwork for long-term partnerships that will drive innovation, economic growth, and technological advancement between the two nations.

This visit highlights the UAE’s strategic approach to fostering international collaboration in key sectors, positioning both countries to benefit from mutual opportunities in advanced technology and economic development.
