Medical tourism in UAE on the rise

Medical tourism in the UAE is booming.

According to new figures released by authorities, medical tourism sales in the UAE crossed the AED 12 billion mark last year.

That's a 5.5 per cent year on year increase from 2017.

The rise is being attributed to more government-led initiatives and the rising number of international patients being treated in the country.

Experts say the UAE's medical tourism sector will be valued at AED 19.5 billion by 2023.
