The UAE's national carrier is preparing to operate its regular flight schedule from July, pending approval.

In a statement sent to ARN News, a spokesperson from Etihad Airways said they've started to "accept new bookings for flights across its networks from July 1".

The decision, however, will be "subject to the lifting of travel restrictions" that's been put in place to curb the spread of COVID-19.

The carrier also announced an increase in the "number of special flights operating from Abu Dhabi to several key destinations around the world, including new transit flights between the United Kingdom and Australia" in June.

Highlighting the health and safety guidelines in place for their passengers, the airline said it has "implemented an extensive sanitisation and customer safety programme and is practicing the highest standards of hygiene at every part of the customer journey.

"This includes catering, aircraft and cabin deep-cleaning, check-in, health screening, boarding, inflight, crew interaction, meal service, disembarkation and ground transportation, among others."

Travellers are urged to log on to their official website for more information.
