A new Rental Dispute Resolution Centre will be established in Ajman to streamline the handling of landlord-tenant disputes and strengthen stability in the real estate sector.

His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, has issued Law No. (1) of 2026, establishing the new centre and replacing the existing rental disputes committee.

The new legislation sets out clear and transparent mechanisms for reviewing and adjudicating rental disputes, aimed at protecting the rights of all parties, enhancing confidence in the property market, and supporting the emirate’s investment environment.

Under the law, a specialised centre will handle all rental-related disputes between landlords and tenants, including properties located within free zones, using clear procedures aligned with recognised legal and judicial standards.

The centre will also work to speed up dispute resolution, reduce litigation timelines, and ensure swift justice, contributing to social and economic stability in the leasing sector.

The law comes into force on February 1, 2026 and will be published in the Official Gazette.
