Abu Dhabi has waived off housing loans of 803 citizens, totalling AED 1.1 billion.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, ordered that retirees and families of deceased mortgagors were exempt from loan repayments.

The announcement coincides with Eid Al Adha and reflects the leadership's commitment to ensure social stability.

The package is part of the Ghadan 21 accelerator programme launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed.
