Australia ended the opening day of their fourth Ashes Test against England on 170 for 3.

Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith notched up half-centuries on a day which was badly affected by rain, allowing only 44 overs to be played.

Meanwhile, two Australian cricket fans were ejected from Old Trafford for verbally abusing bowler Jofra Archer from the stands.

The five-match series is currently tied 1-1.

Day two gets underway at 2:00 pm UAE time.
