Ronaldo won't be prosecuted in 2009 sexual assault case

Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo will not face criminal charges after a woman accused him of sexual assault at a Las Vegas resort in 2009.

Prosecutors say they have reviewed a new police investigation and have decided the claim cannot be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.

Representatives for the Portuguese footballer have repeatedly denied the allegations that were first reported in 2017.

Kathryn Mayorga filed a civil lawsuit in September 2018 in state court in Nevada accusing Ronaldo of attacking her and then paying her $375,000 in hush money.
