Muguruza knocked out at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships

Wimbledon champion Simona Halep is through to the semi-finals of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships.

The 28-year old Romanian bounced back from a set down to beat the Aryna Sabalenka 3-6, 6-2, 6-2.

Meanwhile, Garbine Muguruza failed to progress after her shock quarter-final defeat to Jennifer Brady, losing 6-7, 6-3, 6-4.

Karolina Pliskova is also out after her shock 7-6, 6-3 defeat to Elena Rybakina.

Play resumes again on Saturday, where Elena Rybakina faces Petra Martic and Simona Halep versus Jennifer Brady.
