Kobe Bryant honoured in Bosnia with giant mural on school wall

A giant mural of Kobe Bryant has popped up in a school in Bosnia to honour the 18-time NBA All-Star who died in a helicopter crash in January.

Commissioned by sports enthusiasts, the 12-metre wide, 6-metre tall mural appears on the side of an elementary school building in the town of Gradiska.

Artist Deni Bozic, who has been working on the project since February, said Kobe deserved "a modern 21st century monument".

The image shows Kobe wearing his Lakers jersey while preparing to take a shot, with the "black mamba" logo on the right-hand corner.

Bryant died in a helicopter crash outside of Los Angeles along with his 13-year-old daughter and seven others.
