Former Wales centre Scott Gibbs has revealed coach Warren Gatlin should assume some responsibility for Leigh Halfpenny’s omission from the Rugby World Cup. The fly-half is out after suffering a serious knee injury in his side’s warm-up match against Italy last week. Speaking exclusively to the ARN News Centre, Gibbs questioned Gatlin’s decision to play Wales’ talisman. "We will always struggle with depth and keeping players fit," he said. "Yes Gatland comes under pressure because he deflects arguments. Ultimately if Halfpenny's knee wasn't strapped people wouldn't be talking about it. "The fact it was, has posed the question of Gatland; was he right and why did he play?"
