It’s only the third major tournament that Wales have qualified for, after the 1958 World Cup and Euro 2016.
Elsewhere, Serge Gnabry scored a hat-trick as already-qualified Germany came from a goal down to crush Northern Ireland 6-1, while the
Netherlands eased to a 5-0 victory over Estonia in the other Group C clash.
Belgium thrashed Cyprus 6-1 to finish top of Group I with a perfect 10 wins from 10 games, while Scotland advanced to the playoffs with a confidence-boosting 3-1 win over Kazakhstan.
