Al Ahli’s new signing Moussa Sow has revealed he turned down offers from West Ham and Sunderland to join the six-time UAE league champions. Sow, 29, was unveiled to the local media on Wednesday afternoon after completing a landmark €17million (AED 70m) move from Turkish side Fenerbahce. The fee for the Senegalese international is a record for the Arabian Gulf League, eclipsing both Al Ain’s deal for Asamoah Gyan and Al Jazira’s capture of Ricardo Oliveira. Prior to his spell with Fenerbahce, Sow had top scored in Ligue 1 with 25 goals as Lille clinched the 2010-11 French league title.
