A man used a lucky penny he found in a parking lot to scratch off a lottery prize worth more than $1 million.
Timothy Clougherty said he found the penny on the ground and used it to scratch off the lottery ticket he had just purchased, in Virginia, US, and won the $10,000 a month prize.
Clougherty had the option to choose to receive his winnings either as a monthly payment for ten years or as one single lump sum, which he accepted, of $1,028,000.
