The UAE has updated land entry protocols for those living in the border areas with neighbouring countries.

The changes are applicable to GCC citizens and residents who frequently enter and exit the UAE through land crossings:

  • The validity of PCR test results for those vaccinated against COVID-19 has now been extended to 14 days, but they must get tested again on the sixth day of entry if they are planning to stay for at least six consecutive days.
  • Meanwhile, those unvaccinated are required to present a negative PCR test taken no more than 72 hours prior to entry.
  • They must also get tested again on the fourth and eighth day of entry depending on the number of days they intend to stay.
  • In addition, the validity of the PCR test results has been extended to 14 days for vaccinated and non-vaccinated educational staff and students as well as parents who pick up students from educational institutions.

The latest updates have been announced by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security in coordination with the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA).
