The UAE has provided urgent relief aid to those affected by the recent flooding of Syria's Euphrates River under the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Organised under the UAE Aid Agency, the humanitarian support includes the delivery of essential relief supplies and basic shelter materials.

The northern and eastern regions of Syria had been hit by rising water levels in late May, causing major floods that killed several people, damaged homes and had residents living along the banks move inland.

Dr. Tareq Ahmed Al Ameri, Chairman of the UAE Aid Agency, stressed on the UAE leadership's focus on supporting countries affected by natural disasters or critical humanitarian crises.
