UAE renews fight against preventable diseases

WAM

The UAE has reiterated its commitment to eliminating preventable diseases.

In a statement delivered by the country's Permanent Representative to the UN in Geneva, the emirates also pledged to improve the health condition of millions of children around the world.

Obaid Salem Al Zaabi made the comments during an event hosted at the World Health Organisation headquarters to mark World Polio Day.

He also renewed UAE's commitment to supporting the biennial Reaching the Last Mile Forum, which will convene in Abu Dhabi later this month under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
