UAE marks three years of Operation Chivalrous Knight 3

WAM

The UAE is marking the third anniversary of Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, launched on November 5, 2023, under the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to provide humanitarian assistance to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

Since its launch, the operation has delivered more than 136,000 tonnes of humanitarian aid, valued at over $4.16 billion. This represents around 46 per cent of all international humanitarian assistance received by Gaza.

The aid effort has involved 792 aircraft, 26 ships and more than 14,700 trucks, alongside 81 airdrop missions under the Birds of Goodness initiative.

Deliveries have continued by land, air and sea to reach people in need.

Healthcare has also been a major focus, with more than 294,000 medical cases treated through field hospitals, equipped health centres and medical convoys carrying essential medicines and supplies, in cooperation with the World Health Organisation.

Food assistance has expanded through 40 community kitchens producing around eight million meals annually, as well as support for 27 bakeries capable of producing up to 1.5 million bundles of bread each year.

The operation also provides support for women, children, the elderly and people with disabilities, alongside education programmes and psychosocial assistance.

Seasonal relief initiatives are continuing, including a winter clothing campaign aiming to reach one million people in Gaza with clothing, blankets and heating supplies.

Meanwhile, humanitarian teams are continuing to prepare and dispatch aid shipments from the UAE's logistics centre in Al Arish, Egypt, helping maintain the flow of essential supplies into Gaza.

Now in its third year, Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 continues to provide food, medical care, shelter and other essential assistance, reflecting the UAE's ongoing humanitarian support for the Palestinian people.
