The UAE has reaffirmed its commitment to peace and stability in Africa.
Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State, led the UAE delegation at a high-level meeting in Washington, DC, to finalise a peace agreement between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda.
The UAE’s participation, at the invitation of US President Donald Trump, highlights its growing role in promoting regional stability, security and development across Africa.
Sheikh Shakhboot stressed that dialogue is key to achieving security and sustainable development, and pledged the UAE’s continued support for implementing the agreement.
He praised recent progress between the two nations and highlighted the importance of international partnerships, including the roles of the US, Qatar, and the African Union, in strengthening peace and stability across Africa.
