UAE assists Bangladesh in fight against cholera

Supplied

The UAE has airlifted more than 50 tonnes of cholera kits to Bangladesh.

The much-needed items were transported from the World Health Organisation’s logistics hub in Dubai, based on the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The International Humanitarian City (IHC) in Dubai chartered an Emirates Sky Cargo aircraft to deliver the kits.

At least 20,000 patients are expected to benefit from the supplies, valued at USD 131,000 (over AED 481,000).
