UAE, Africa relations strengthen in talks on investment cooperation

WAM

Sheikh Shakhbout bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State, has discussed strengthening cooperation in investment, particularly in infrastructure and digital architecture, in a meeting with Wamkele Mene, Secretary-General of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

Meeting in Abu Dhabi, the two sides stressed the importance of developing infrastructure projects to facilitate trade and connect African markets, alongside boosting investment in digital transformation.

The meeting also addressed opportunities to enhance partnerships between the public and private sectors in the UAE and African countries.

Both parties reaffirmed their shared commitment to further strengthening UAE–Africa relations to support sustainable economic growth, which continues to advance steadily.

They also exchanged views on regional developments, including the serious repercussions of Iran’s attacks targeting the UAE and neighbouring countries and their impact on security and stability, as well as their effects on international maritime security, energy supplies, and the global economy.
