The National Aquarium Abu Dhabi is hosting two African manatees and taking part in a manatee conservation project in West Africa.
The National Aquarium has been specially designed to the highest international standards, provides the Manatees with an environment closest to their natural habitat in Africa.
African Manatees are extremely rare, with only a few facilities worldwide able to host them.
The two male manatees were transferred from their previous home in an aquarium in Seoul, Korea, was accompanied by a team of specialists,
This initiative reflects a broader commitment to advancing marine conservation efforts and forging appreciation for the marvels of aquatic life.
The Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund has also partnered with the African Aquatic Conservation Fund to initiate a species safeguarding project in West Africa.
