Sheikh Abdullah holds bilateral talks with Grand Duke of Luxembourg

WAM

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, has discussed strengthening bilateral relations with Luxembourg's Grand Duke Guillaume during his work visit to the country on Friday.

Sheikh Abdullah highlighted the UAE’s keenness to expand cooperation and partnership prospects with Luxembourg.

The meeting also addressed several regional and international issues, with the two sides exchanging views on the latest developments and their impact on security and stability.

They reviewed the repercussions of Iran's attacks against civilian sites and facilities in the UAE using missiles and drones, as well as their serious implications for international maritime security, energy supplies, and the global economy.

The talks also touched on the drone attacks launched from the Iraqi territory, including one that targeted the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant last Sunday, striking an electricity generator located outside the inner perimeter of the plant.

Grand Duke Guillaume reaffirmed Luxembourg's solidarity with the UAE, condemning the recent attacks on the country.

During his visit, Sheikh Abdullah also looked into opportunities to boost cooperation in the economy, trade, and investment sectors between the two nations in a separate meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Luc Frieden.

The top UAE diplomat also witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between the two countries on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters following a meeting with Xavier Bettel, Luxembourg's Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, and Minister for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Affairs.
