A suspended rail transport system will soon come up in Sharjah.
Test operations for the SkyWay project's unicars have been carried out at the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SRTIP), in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
The trials were held on hanging tracks that will be able to carry cargo and passengers.
The firm, SkyWayGreenTech is constructing three test tracks at SRTIP, stretching from the beginning of the park (Sharjah Airport road) to the end of the park (Mweileh Road).
Dr. Anatoli Unitsky, Chairman of SkyWay said that Sharjah was chosen to host the project after extensive studies that showed its strategic and competitive location as well as the academic connections of SRTIP being located at University City.
