Sharjah introduces high-speed bikes to fight fires

Sharjah Civil Defence Authority

Sharjah Civil Defence Authority has rolled out specialised bikes to access and fight fires during the initial stages to speed up emergency response time.

These bikes will help access areas that are congested or narrow for firetrucks to use.

Each bike will have two 25-litre tanks, placed on either side, and a high-pressure hose and sprayer.

These are also equipped with oxygen cylinders and field support equipment to provide crucial assistance before the firefighters arrive on the scene.

The move is aimed at strengthening the readiness of the firefighters and to enhance response time.

"The motorcycles combine rapid mobility with specialised field equipment, enabling civil defence teams to carry out swift and effective interventions during the critical first minutes of an incident," said Brigadier General Yousef Obaid Harmoul Al Shamsi, Director General of the Sharjah Civil Defence Authority.
