Ministerial Development Council reviews progress of government initiatives

WAM

The UAE's Ministerial Development Council has reviewed progress on key government programmes and initiatives, and discussed proposals aimed at improving efficiency across a range of sectors.

His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, chaired a meeting of the council in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.

On the agenda were studies and strategies covering industry, the economy and foreign trade, along with new policy developments in public services, digital government projects, postal services regulation, and environmental sustainability.

The Council also examined draft regulatory decisions related to healthcare and medical professions, personal status laws and services provided by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security.

In addition, members reviewed the implementation of government strategies and assessed reports from federal councils and committees for 2025 — including those covering infrastructure and housing, industrial development and national food safety.

The meeting also discussed recommendations from the Federal National Council, including policies on artificial intelligence and efforts to strengthen national security in the pharmaceutical and medical supplies sectors.
