A Dubai cop is being hailed a hero after his swift action saved the life of a man who suffered an epileptic seizure while travelling through Dubai International Airport.
As he was going through the security check at Terminal 2, the 44-year-old African passenger collapsed to the floor and started convulsing before he choked on his tongue.
Sergeant Mohammad Khalid Mohammad, who works for the General Department of Airport Security at Dubai Police, quickly responded and provided the traveller with emergency aid.
“Sgt. Mohammad, who is trained to administer first-aid, firmly pushed the angle of the jaw forward to assist the man with breathing, performed CPR to help him regain consciousness, and waited for the ambulance and medical team to arrive,” said a statement from Dubai Police.
The passenger was rushed to Rashid Hospital for further treatment and is expected to make a full recovery.
