Gazan hopes to walk again after crucial care at UAE floating hospital

A Gazan patient is hopeful of being able to walk again after undergoing multiple surgeries at the UAE floating hospital in Egypt's Al Arish.

The patient had suffered severe complications after a previous femur fracture hadn't healed properly. It left him with severe knee stiffness, a discrepancy in leg length and foot drop on the right side.

Following a thorough medical check, he underwent a tendon transfer surgery to treat the foot drop and an osteotomy to lengthen the right femur.

A specialised team is currently monitoring his recovery.

The hospital, set up under the UAE's Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, aims to provide comprehensive medical care to those wounded in the conflict.

The UAE continues to support Palestinians in Gaza by providing humanitarian, relief and medical assistance, operating hospitals and healthcare initiatives, and dispatching aid convoys.
