Dubai says stray dog population under control

NULL

Dubai has been able to manage the stray dog population around the city thanks to its zero tolerance policy. That’s according to the Dubai Municipality, who developed the Humane Dog Population Management Programme in partnership with World Animal Protection. Dogs that are found around the Emirate are taken to a holding and adoption centre where their number is checked and the owner has five days to pick up their pet. Otherwise the animal is put up for adoption. An app by the name of Aleef has also been launched, where information on lost and found dogs can be uploaded and residents can scroll through pictures of dogs put up for adoption.
