The first batch of repatriation flights to India will take off from Dubai and Abu Dhabi airports on Thursday.

The two services to Kochi and Kozhikode will be operated by Air India Express.

All the passengers will have to undergo medical checks before departure followed by further tests and quarantine on reaching India.

In the first week of repatriation, around 2,000 Indians are expected to fly out of the UAE.

It’s part of a wider international mission by the Indian government to bring back citizens from 12 countries in the initial phase.
