Eleven French nationals have been deported from Turkey as part of a programme to extradite "foreign terrorist fighters".

The Interior Ministry, which made the announcement, didn't disclose any details.

It comes a month after Turkey launched a programme to repatriate detainees with suspected IS links by the end of this year.

It's forcing European capitals to decide how to handle the return of radicalised militants, including those with battlefield experience.

Almost 300 French nationals have been expelled by Turkey since Paris signed a pact with Ankara five years ago.
