South Korea has reported 169 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, pushing the total tally to 1,146.

Authorities said most of the new cases have been reported from Daegu city, where a church linked to the outbreaks is located. The US military has also reported its first case near the city.

It comes as the government widens its coronavirus testing for thousands of church-goers at Shincheonji.

Meanwhile, the death toll from the outbreak in China had reached 2,715, with the total number of confirmed cases to 78,064.
