Qatar revises COVID travel guidelines for travellers

Starting February 28, fully vaccinated citizens and residents will no longer need to present the pre-departure COVID test results when flying back to Qatar.

That's according to the latest update from the country's Ministry of Public Health, which added that the 48-hour negative COVID pre-departure test results will only apply if they are flying in from a country marked on the "red list".

Meanwhile, all other travellers to Qatar will need a negative PCR test with a 48-hour validity before their flight takes off.

The country has also done away with the previous Green, Red, Exceptional Red country list classification and has introduced just two new categories - Standard Health Measures and Red-List Health Measures.

Qatar explained that the revision of travel protocols is due to a drop in COVID cases in the country and their successful programme to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
