U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that I.S. leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi died in an overnight raid in Syria.
During a press conference, Trump said U.S. military forces led an operation in the Idlib province in the northwest of the country, where Baghdadi ran into a tunnel before detonating an explosive vest, which killed him and three children.
According to statements, DNA tests on the site confirmed the identity of one of the world's most wanted men.
A number of other I.S. militants were killed, while others were captured and imprisoned.
