May says government will not seek Brexit delay

The British Prime Minister has reiterated her commitment to leaving the European Union by the deadline of March 29.

It comes after her chief Brexit advisor was allegedly overheard in a Brussel's hotel saying the government intended to leave a vote on a revised Brexit deal until the eleventh hour, in order to give MPs the choice between the PM's deal, or postponing Brexit for a large amount of time.

A move that would be unpopular with hard-line brexiteers.

Responding to a question from an MP at the weekly Prime Minister's Question Time, May said her government was working towards leaving the EU with a deal in the time frame specified.
