The Rukban district is around 300 kilometers from Damascus, and one of the last remaining hard to reach places.

A large humanitarian aid convoy has managed to reach the remote area and distribute supplies to 40,000 people.

According to National News Agency WAM, it's been billed as the biggest aid operation in Syria to be carried out by the UN.

It took two months to put together, with a journey lasting nine days, involving more than 300 people and 130 trucks.
