Bahrain has approved the Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine for children aged between 3 and 11 years, from October 27.

The country's National Medical Taskforce for Combatting the Coronavirus said the decision was taken following a thorough review of all health and safety recommendations.

It also added that the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine would soon be approved for children between 5 and 11.

The Taskforce stressed that it is important that eligible children get vaccinated to protect themselves, their families, and public health.

Parents can register their children through the Ministry of Health's website or through the BeAware application.

Registration requires the consent of a legal guardian and an adult must accompany the child when receiving the vaccine.
