Jay Z has organised a star-studded concert to celebrate Tidal reaching 1 million subscribers. The 45-year-old rapper's music streaming service, which launched last March, has announced he and wife Beyoncé will headline Tidal X: 1020 Amplified by HTC at the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn, New York later this month. The 'Drunk in Love' hitmakers will be joined by Prince, Usher, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, T.I., Fabolous, Damian Marley, Indochine, Thomas Rhett, DJ Cipha Sounds and DJ Reflex at the event on October 20, 2015, which will the first in a series of gigs to raise funds for charity, according to PEOPLE.com. Jay recently hinted on Twitter he was planning something special to mark the service's latest milestone, writing: "'Nothing real can be threatened, nothing unreal exists' Tidal is platinum. 1,000,000 people and counting. Let's celebrate 10/20 Brooklyn." In a statement, Tidal said concertgoers can expect "collaborations on specially chosen songs to promote the message of unity through music." The event is "aimed at raising awareness, funds, conscious engagement, and dynamic action for transformative and positive social impact worldwide," with all of the proceeds set to be donated to charities connected to the New World Foundation. Tickets, ranging in price from $74 to $244, went on sale to Tidal members on Wednesday (30.09.15), and non-members can buy tickets via Ticketmaster from tomorrow (02.10.15). The event will be also available for all members and non-members to watch on Tidal and HTC's websites.
