Wizz Air Abu Dhabi's first flight to take off in January

WAM

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi will begin operations on January 15, with its inaugural flight set for the Greek capital Athens.

"The waiting is almost over for Abu Dhabi fans of our ultra-low fare airline," announced Kees Van Schaick, Managing Director of Wizz Air Abu Dhabi.

"We have the aircraft, we have the crew, we have the partners, and we are ready to fly. We look forward to building a new travel segment in this important market."

The airline, which is a joint-venture between the holding company ADQ and Wizz Air Holdings Plc, will also operate flights to Thessaloniki from February 4.

Wizz Air says its fleet of Airbus A321neo aircraft will have the lowest environmental footprint of airlines in the region.
