81% increase in Indian visitors to GCC by 2024

India is set to strengthen its position as a major source market for tourists to the Gulf region.

New research from Colliers International predicts an 81 per cent rise in the number of Indian travellers to the GCC by 2024.

The numbers are expected to jump from 5.4 million in 2018 to 9.8 million in 2024.

The study published ahead of Arabian Travel Market (ATM) also forecasts an increase in the average amount that Indian visitors will spend on their trips.

The relaxed visa regulations, additional airline routes and the growing leisure and business opportunities in the region are some of the key factors behind the positive outlook.
