Australia on top against Pakistan in first Test

Australia have the upper hand against Pakistan in the first Test at Brisbane.

They dismissed the visitors for 240 in the first innings, thanks to some tidy bowling from pacers Mitchell Starc (4-52), Josh Hazlewood (2-46) and Pat Cummins (3-60).

Pakistan’s score was boosted by Asad Shafiq’s 76, while captain Azhar Ali contributed 39.

Australia will start their first innings on day two.
