A unique ring, worth a staggering $4.9 million (AED 17.98 million), will be the highlight of the 47thd edition of the Sharjah Watch and Jewellery show.

Holder of the Guinness World Record for the most diamonds set in one ring, it took a team of 12 artisans “18 months and innumerable hours” to create it.

Designed by Bhandari of Lakshikaa Jewels, the ring - weighing 70.42 gm - is modelled on Delhi's stunning Lotus Temple, in two-tone 18K white and rose gold.

It is studded with an astounding 7,777 pieces of round, brilliant-cut natural diamonds.

Held under the patronage of His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, with the support of Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), the five-day event will unfold at Expo Centre Sharjah on Tuesday.
