Unified traffic safety campaigns to be rolled out across UAE

The Ministry of Interior (MoI) is gearing up to roll out unified traffic awareness campaigns across the UAE.

The move is aimed at reducing accidents in coordination with authorities and entities concerned with road safety and security.

Four quarterly campaigns will be implemented, with the first one to be launched in February under the slogan 'safety of pedestrians and drivers from run-over accidents'.

The second campaign will be rolled out in May, focusing on the safety of users of electric bicycles/scooters.

'A summer without accidents' will be the theme of the third awareness programme to be launched in August, while the fourth campaign will be implemented in November under the slogan 'traffic safety of school students'.

The awareness campaigns aim to reach the largest segments of society, through printed media, radio and TV, as well as the internet, outdoor media and panel discussions.

They will be implemented in coordination with the Traffic Departments and Patrols across the UAE as well as other public and private institutions concerned with traffic safety.
