Umm Al Quwain Police nab hit-and-run driver within 3 hours

A motorist involved in a hit-and-run incident was arrested by Umm Al Quwain Police within three hours of receiving the report.

Colonel Hamid Ahmed Saeed, Deputy Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department, said the driver fled the scene after running over a pedestrian in the Falaj Al Mualla area on Tuesday evening (7:15 pm).

Traffic patrol teams were quick to nab the motorist and they also located the vehicle.

The individual has been referred to the higher authorities for legal action.

Col. Saeed urged motorists to follow the traffic rules and warned them against running away if involved in an accident.
