The UAE has welcomed an agreement announced by US President Donald Trump for Hamas to disarm and Israeli troops to withdraw in Gaza, calling it a significant milestone towards ending the conflict.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) expressed hope that the agreement, which also sees the deployment of an international stabilization force, will help reinforce security and stability, support reconstruction efforts, ensure unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid and "bring an end to the suffering of civilians".
The Ministry also thanked Trump for his efforts in reaching the agreement, and commended Qatar, Egypt, and Türkiye for their role in facilitating talks between Israel and Hamas.
The UAE reaffirmed its support for all regional and international efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions, and achieving a just and lasting political settlement based on the two-state solution, bringing security, stability, and prosperity to the people of the region.
